1. Invite AEGIS
Use the official installation link and select your server. AEGIS currently uses guild installation. The bot needs the Discord permissions used by your enabled features:
Place the bot role above roles it assigns and members it manages. Check channel overwrites in verification, log and protected channels. Server permissions do not automatically override a channel-specific denial.
2. Open the dashboard as the owner
Sign in at the dashboard with the Discord account that owns the server. Select that server. The actual owner has implicit AEGIS access. Other staff need explicitly assigned AEGIS permissions; a native Discord Administrator role alone is insufficient.3. Configure verification
- In server preferences, choose
basic, manualorsiteverification. - In Server configuration, select the verification channel, member role and optional unverified badge role. Save access settings.
- Add server rules and publish their version.
- For manual mode, save the questions. For site mode, the service operator must configure the matching hCaptcha sitekey and secret.
- Select Deploy verification panel. Saving the channel alone does not publish it.
4. Prepare operations
Set a security log channel and send a test log. Configure protections and staff permissions, then run/server check in a test channel.
Validate with a separate ordinary test member: read rules, verify, submit a report and confirm the intended staff can review it. Use Troubleshooting if a panel, role or dashboard action fails.
